All around the world people have different beliefs about what happens in the afterlife. Some religions, like Hinduism and Buddhism, believe in reincarnation, where a deceased person is reborn as something or someone else.
While no theories about where we go when we die have been proven, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they should be written off. In fact, some people are giving exact reasons why the idea of reincarnation shouldn’t be dismissed so quickly.
Meet Manpreet Singh, a 21-year-old from Punjab, India who suffers from a mystery illness that has left him standing a mere 23 inches tall. Now, many locals believe he is the reincarnation of a Hindu God…
Manpreet — a 21-year-old man who suffers from a mystery illness that left him standing at just 23 inches and weighs 15 pound — has recently garnered attention in his hometown of Punjab, India where locals believe that he is the reincarnation of a Hindu deity.
Manpreet’s parents, Jagtar Singh and Manjeet Kaur, have said that he was born a perfectly healthy and normal baby boy, though, he stopped growing altogether at just six months. While they want answers as to what stunted his growth, they have never been able to afford medical treatment to get a proper diagnosis.
In addition to his small stature, Manpreet is also unable to walk or talk. His parents noted that he just stopped using his legs altogether when he was around the age of three.
This, however, hasn’t stopped locals from praising the young man as the reincarnation of a Hindu God…
Among his relatives, as well as those who come from outside, he is considered to be like a God. Whoever he blesses will get their wish fulfilled,” Manjeet said in an interview. “People don’t bully my son for being short. We don’t feel bad about him. We all worship him. People love him a lot. People come to worship him every day.
Perhaps, most interesting to many doctors and local people is that Manpreet has two siblings who are of normal size for their age. This has only intensified how they worship the young man. Jaspreet, his 19-year-old sister, is one of his primary caretakers.
Manpreet’s parents only have one wish for their child: that he will become famous enough for being the reincarnation of a former Hindu deity that they can afford to get him the treatment for his mystery illness that they believe he needs.
“We have consulted a lot of doctors but they also don’t have any hope. But if by any chance there is a possibility, I could not be happier,” the boy’s father Jagtar said about finding a possible cure for his mystery illness in an interview.
Local medical practitioner Doctor Hemraj believes that Manpreet’s mystery illness is caused by a defect in the young man’s thyroid. “People come to me who are suffering from fever or a cold, I take care of them. But this is a different case, I have seen it for the very first time,” he said in an interview.
“Today science has developed so much that nothing is impossible. His treatment is also possible,” doctor Hemraj also said of Manpreet’s illness. This certainly gives his parents hope, as finding what has caused their son’s illness is their biggest question of all.
Until medical practitioners are able to decisively give Manpreet any such diagnosis, the local villagers of Punjab, India will continue to flock to the young man’s home and worship and take photographs of the man they believe is a Hindu deity reincarnated.
Regardless of Manpreet’s condition, people continue to visit the young man on a daily basis. Watch as people attempt to get his blessing and even a photograph with the potential reincarnation of a Hindu deity…
That’s quite an interesting story for such a young man. Let’s hope that Manpreet’s parents get the answers they are looking for.
