The kind people at Animal Aid Unlimited got a phone call about a dog that had become trapped in a sewage drain. They rushed out to help the poor dog. When they got there, they realized it was going to be very challenging to get the dog out.

The dog was not only emaciated, but he couldn’t move.

She also had a serious wound on her neck that was infested with maggots. How long did the poor dog suffer while stuck in this drain before someone called for help? The rescuers were able to remove the dog safely.

They named her Shanti.

They rushed her to their clinic, she didn’t have much time left.

The vets realized that they were in a race against time – and they are sure to win against all odds just to save this poor pooch! Kudos to their effort!

Her condition was very poor. The first thing they had to do was to kill the maggots. They put some powder on her wound and waited for the maggots to all die. Then they could clean the wound.

Shanti was also severely dehydrated, so they gave her IV fluids. Shanti was sedated so they could clean and dress her wounds.
