Millions of people are at risk in parts of Iraq and Syria as hundreds of square miles have been left riddled with deadly, hidden bombs. War is devastating. Besides, our heroic soldier that we lose every day, there is so many victims who go unmentioned. Innocent people, innocent children… and yes, innocent animals!
As you can see in the footage below, a puppy who believed to have been a working army dog stepped on ISIS Landmine, the tiny dog survived but was badly injured. In the video below, you can see Kurdish soldiers rush to save the puppy’s leg with first aid.
The distressing footage from Iraq shows the puppy screeching in pain while a group of men huddle around it and try to help. Some of the fighters hold the dog steady to stop it from trying to escape while the others set about mending its injured leg.
The men attach a splint to the dog’s leg before one wraps it up with a bandage and cuts away the excess
The men then let go of the dog and step away, allowing it to jump to its feet.It stops whining and checks out the bandage on its leg before wagging its tail and limping over to one of the men.
The clip concludes with the dog awaiting a drink of water courtesy of one of the fighters. It is not clear exactly how the dog was injured but it is believed that its leg may have been penetrated by shrapnel when a landmine exploded.
No one knows what happened to the dog, but chances are he’s better now thanks to the soldiers and their bravery. Here’s to hoping he’s alive, happy and healthy.
