When a little kid steps up to a microphone, you just expect him or her to sing something like “Old Macdonald Had A Farm,” “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,” “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” or some other simple melody little kids sing in kindergarten.
What you would never expect is for them to skip right past the kiddie songbook and instead reach back more than a half century, belting out jazz standards recorded by one of the most popular musical artists in the 20th century.
But five-year-old Sophie Fatu absolutely loves Frank Sinatra, so much so that she’s come out with her own renditions of classics including “Moon River,” “My Way” and “Fly Me To The Moon,” as seen in the breathtaking video below.
She was probably destined for this line of work, with a musically inclined mother who also sings and plays the piano, and stick-to-itiveness that’s well beyond her years. I mean, how many of us dreamed of acting, singing or dancing professionally at a young age, only to be distracted by anything else new and shiny that came along?
The video below was just published at the end of January and already has thousands talking! Listen to the pipes on this pint-sized crooner in the clip below, and remember to share her talent with a fellow music lovertoday.
