Stranded on a dry, dusty road on a reservation in South Dakota, Darlin didn’t stand much of a chance for survival. Her fur at skin were completely parched and riddled with issues, and she likely didn’t have a proper meal or cool drink of water in quite some time. Perhaps most concerning, she hardly trusted humans at all.
That’s when one animal rescue team bravely stepped in. Corralling Darlin off the side of the road and putting her in the car, the team was able to get this troubled pup the help she deserved. Her transformation is 100% due to their tender loving care, and you won’t believe what Darlin is up to now.
Darlin the dog was huddled by the side of the road on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Spotted by a rescue worker, she was scooped up in less-than-ideal condition.
She was terrified, mostly likely uncertain if her rescuers meant to bring her harm.
But then, after her first bowl of food, she realized that things were taking a turn for the better.
She’d likely not had a meal like this in awhile.
Wolakota Canine Rescue was able to find a partnering rescue to take Darlin that could give her a loving foster home while she recuperated.
Now, her car rides are a lot less scary — she’s even into taking them with new furry friends.
Despite her many illnesses, Darlin’s condition has improved immensely.
In fact, this brave pooch is even in training to become a licensed therapy dog. You’ve come a long way, baby.
